Every now and then, a change is needed.  No matter how big or small, it’s liberating to finally take a step towards hopefully bigger and better things.  After months of mulling over it, the time has come to part ways with this here blog and start anew.

It’s been a fun 3/4 years using this as an outlet  to write and share various photos, lust lists, thoughts, music, shorts, etc.  To those who have put up with my random musings on here, thank you.  I’ll be sure to share where my next home will be but for now, I bid farewell in the only fashion I see fit:

Obviously have to add a few more random songs for good measure.

The music mood lately has been quite mellow resulting in some old, unexpected choices.

Mazzy Star – “Into Dust”
So Tonight That I Might See is an incredible album.  One I always have to listen to from start to finish.

The Sundays – “Here’s Where the Story Ends”

Talk Talk – “I Believe In You”
If you’ve never listened to Talk Talk, I highly recommend listening to Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock.  Although they are mostly know for their pop 80s sound, their last two albums really showcase how talented they were.

The Stone Roses – “I Wanna Be Adored”

Emiliana Torrini – “Snow”

Bon Iver – “Can’t Make You Love Me” (Bonnie Raitt Cover)
Absolutely beautiful.  I love the original but this is just…wow.

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Wishing I was lounging on the beach in one of my fave swimsuits but alas, the rooftop will have to suffice.

And just because fireworks are a big part of the 4th of July festivities, I leave you with Katy Perry’s “Firework” and for those wanting to get their dance on, Kelis’s “4th of July (Fireworks).

Periodically it seems as though I fall off the face of the planet/this blog without any type of warning.  This time around, it’s been for an exciting reason.  In past posts, I’ve plugged performances for Khorikos, the choral ensemble I’m in.  This week we’ve had the pleasure of going on a mini tour of sorts to perform the debut of “A Melancholy Beauty.”

It’s an honor to be given the opportunity to perform in 3 amazing performance spaces for the debut, which are The Kennedy Center in DC, Wang Theater in Boston (grew up seeing performances there), and Lincoln Center (crazy!!).

For those interested in learning more about “A melancholy Beauty,” check out these articles from The Washington Post and Boston Herald:

For anyone interested in catching the last two performances, info and tickets are available through the Song of Life Website at www.songsoflife.org.

Also, here are some crappy cell phone pics from the stage during rehearsal at the JFK Center in DC.  Totally had to happen. Oh my word, what a crazy week it has been.

ZERO
Who doesn’t love a story with a happy ending?

METROMONY – “THE BAY”
Fun summer song.

SYMMETRY
This one speaks for itself.

THURSDAY

ADELE – “LOVESONG” (THE CURE COVER)
Such a great cover by the extremely talented Adele.

DREAM WORLD

For anyone who has ever been interested in free running, here’s a bit more of a glimpse into it.  Talk about athletes.

CULTS
– “ABDUCTED”

Hard to believe that the last “Currently On Rotation” post I did was back in February.

NEW LOOK – “The Ballad”
A recent fave and has been on repeat for the past 2 weeks.  I can’t wait to hear more from New Look.  If the rest of their music is anything like the single, I’ll officially be a new convert.

OH LAND – “Lean On Me” (live version)
String quartet.  Enough said.

KIMBRA – “Plain Gold Ring” (Live @ Sing Sing Studios)
This is just really good.

SADE FEAT. JAY-Z – “Moon and the Sky” (Remix)
The merging of two talents who can musically do no wrong is bound to result in something amazing.  Case in point, this remix.

KATY B – “On A Mission”
Great getting ready to go out or morning get pumped for the work with a solo dance party track.

BEYONCE – “Run The World”
I can’t deny the fact that I enjoy this song…a lot.  Also, the video…SICK.  The clothing, the beginning dance segment…Get It Girl!

Being a lover of films, it’s about time I started posting some of my favorite shorts that I’ve found or people have shared with me.  Hopefully these will be the perfect lazy sunday time waster.  Be sure to watch them in full screen mode.  So much better that way.  I apologize if anyone tears up watching Last Minutes With Oden.

SOME STATIC STARTED by Ben Briand

I decided to have a brief vain couple of minutes today with my homie Ashley joining in for the last one.

I am also officially 23 today.  I’m not exactly sure what to think yet but it’s crazy how fast the years go by.  A personal tradition of mine for the past few years has been to play “April 8th” by Neutral Milk Hotel.  Not exactly the most cheerful songs but it’s named after my birthday so worth a listen to me.

Also, because these two songs have become recent obsessions, I give you Light Asylum and my guilty pleasure, “Till The World Ends” by Britney Spears (yes, I still listen to Britney.  “Till the World Ends” is such an addicting song).

I may not be that much wiser but darnit, it’s hard to resist a catchy pop song sometimes.

Hopefully I’ll finally have a new outfit post, b-day edition soon.  So much for that resolution for the year.

For those interested in music, my first concert review is up on New York Noise.  Not the greatest thing I’ve written but a start to say the least.

Again, I apologize for my frequent absences over the past few weeks.  Talk about life getting more and more crazy.  As a result, I’ve decided to create a weekly schedule for myself in an effort to make my post a lot more regular and hopefully draw a few more people to this here site.  It’s about time I talked a bit about some of the clients my work represents now that full collections are out and they are certainly amazing collections.

Also on deck, finally find the time to revamp my layout the way I want but that probably won’t be for a little while longer.  All in all, thanks to anyone who still checks out my little blog and if you feel so inclined, check me out on Young & Hyp as well were I’ve been posting a little bit more from time to time.  We also need a sort out a posting schedule on there.
